Eddie Murphy and Paige Butcher who have two kids together, held a small wedding ceremony in Anguilla, with just close family and friends. In photos from the day, Eddie wore a cream-colored suit, while Paige looked beautiful in a strapless lace dress.
Eddie, who is 64 years old who is famous for his role in Shrek, surprised fans when he called Paige his "wife" twice during an interview on The New York Times podcast, The Interview.
The couple started dating in 2012 and got engaged in 2018. They have a daughter, Izzy, who is 8, and a son, Max, who is 5. Eddie also has eight other children from previous relationships.
During the interview, Eddie joked that he asks Paige who is in her 40s for help when it comes to pop culture, saying, "I’m so out of touch... I ask my wife, 'Who’s this person?’”
Eddie also shared that he and Paige like to relax and watch TV together, especially shows like The Masked Singer, which are singing competitions.
Paige Butcher was born in Perth, Australia, in October 1979. She has worked as both an actress and a model. She appeared in the 2003 movie Something’s Gotta Give and in the 2006 film Big Momma's House 2.
Eddie and Paige first went to an event together in 2012, when they attended the premiere of Eddie Murphy: One Night Only in Beverly Hills. They also volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, an organization that helps families build homes.
The couple has two kids: Izzy, born in 2016, and Max, born in 2018. Paige is also a stepmom to Eddie's eight older children.
In September 2018, they announced their engagement. They also attended the Golden Globe Awards in 2020 and 2023. In 2023, Eddie received the Cecil B. DeMille Award, and during his speech, he thanked Paige and his kids for their love and support.
Even though the couple never officially announced their wedding, Eddie referred to Paige as his "wife" in a June 2024 interview. On July 9, they had their wedding in Anguilla.
